Hi! This happened when I was eight. My brother who was with me would be six.. We were waiting for my sister's boyfriend to come over. He would bring his telescope and we would have the blanket set up on the driveway. The night was near-clear. There was just the slightest haze in the upper atmosphere. We had a huge view of the sky. This was north of Chicago in the wooded burbs so there were a few stars. Other things have happened near the property. My sister was in the local paper with a picture her looking out her rear window. She said she saw a green orbish light go through the yard.. I could seriously go on and on about events. Before Mauds boyfriend showed up this is what we saw. (I've given the speech alot in life so bare with me..)
Imagine a thick sheet glass, a foot and a half wide and three feet long.. about a three inch thickness. now the sheet of glass has multiple ripples flowing from front to back, like uniform waves?.. you can see thru this piece of glass only there is the slightest hint of a blue-grey foggy mistiness.. now take your piece of rippling glass and its travelling in the sky from horizon to horizon.. almost, there is a tree line behind that house.. now, i'm not an expert in hemispheric mumbo jumbo but this thing had to be miles across.. i mean it was big.. like a giant window floating in the sky... and it was so high in the atmosphere you could see the object ark..
And I saw stars through it. As if you were looking through glass.. Sorry for dragging this out.. I just want to get all the info out.. I've had alot of people suggest alot of things.. professors, friends, family.. one good suggestion was that it was the shadow of a deployed solar array on a satellite.. thats a good one but this was an actual object.. oh the kicker.. so we're freaking the hell out.. we watched it just long enough to where you couldnt see it anymore but as soon as it was gone we booked.. we come flying into the house, mom and dad watching television.. we tell them what we saw.. theyre like, whatever.. i have a right to be pissy about that.. but anyways.. i could ramble about this subject for hours.. and get hot about it.. this mystery shall unfold.. peace and love..
