Details of Incident:

I observed something that convinced me many years ago about the reality of ufo's.

Whether this was a piloted craft or some other anomaly I do not know, but I certainly now strongly believe in the possibility of intelligent life beyond our planet (or here) or in another dimension which we have yet to discover.

I have only related this sighting to friends and my sister who also (I found out later) had a bright, silent (white I think) light zoom over her car near the coliseum in town here back in the late 1960's or early 70's.

In the spring of 1988 when I was 21 (and did not need regular glasses) in Madison Wisconsin, I was leaning out my unscreened apartment window, feeding a squirrel that I was trying to develop a friendly relation with, and enjoying a bright and clear sunny day. Because of the bright sun, I was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses (still have them, I call them my ufo spotters. lol) something in the sky above caught my attention. At first I thought it was one of the small scratch marks in the lenses of the glasses I had on. But after a couple of movements of the glasses and my head, this was not the case.

What I saw was nearly invisible to my naked eye. Without the glasses I don't think I would have seen this object. But once I saw it, it was visible to me. It appeared as a small rectangle and was a bluish gray in color that blended into the sky very well.

It was not quite the size of a dime on edge held at arms length. I saw the object for around 15 seconds or so and once I had determined it was not my imagination or glasses it began to move in a zigzag motion. First it went right about 4 inches, then diagonal down and left about same distance. it did this several times moving very quickly and stopping instantly. It went up and diagonal also. It did kind of an hourglass shape move but in straight lines.

At that point the hairs on my arms/body went rigid as my mind raced to find an explanation to what I was seeing. Suddenly it shot across the sky at great speed to the right and it left a trail for around a second, (vapor?) about a yard long at arms length and disappeared. I have seen a few other odd things since but this is the most unusual thing I have ever observed.

It almost seemed like it was trying to lose my observation of it, unless it was just doing sharp movements for the heck of it? A good friend said he thought it sounded like a reflection, but I have seen many reflections and not one of them looked or acted like this did. (And reflections do not leave trails, at least not that I am aware of.)
