Details of Incident:

My boyfriend and I were driving east on Hwy. 11 when we observed a row of lights low in the sky about 1:30 in the morning. We were coming back from camping because it was too cold. For about 2 miles, we kept our eyes on the lights (red, red, white, red erratically blinking) wondering "when did they put up radio antennas there?" When we arrived at the intersection of Hwys. 11 & 31, we saw that something about 30-40 feet wide was hovering about as high as the store roof above the JCPenney parking lot of Regency Mall. I personally thought that it must be a stunt; a lit night-time hang glider or something. I told my boyfriend to pull into the parking lot, which we did. At the same time, a police car pulled in behind and we both stopped. I couldn't really focus on the "craft" (all I could see were the lights and something like antennas projecting from them. It almost seemed invisible), so I got out of the car. Just then, the object turned a little on its side, and only then could I make out the shape of an oblong triangle, the red lights being on all of its tips and a white light in its middle. It made about as much noise as a very quiet washing machine. It seemed like as soon as it "saw" me, it took off very slowly, around the front west side of Penney's and drifted higher and higher in a northeast direction. Immediately, the police car that was behind us, pulled out onto hwy. 11, turned right onto Hwy. 31. I assumed that maybe he was trying to follow it. I was overcome with the feeling that we had just seen something that we were not suppose to have seen, and I told my boyfriend that I wanted to go home. We spent have the night figuring out if and to whom should we report this to, and decided to just keep it quiet. This is the first time I am submitting this story. 12/16/2002

I just submitted my experience of a sighting, and I forgot to mention that the "craft" appeared to be solid black, very smooth, and not very wide from top to belly. There appeared to be no windows, landing gear, or engines.
