Location: Mineral Point
County: Iowa
Source: Wisconsin UFO Sighting Report by Virginia D.
Details of Incident:
While driving something hit my windshield and exploded with a bomb-like sound. The object was never found,
but my insurance company "totaled" my car after looking at it. The left rear view mirror was found between
the two front seats. Both driver side windows, front and rear were blown into the car. No glass remained
in those windows. The entry point was beneath the driver's side windshield, through the metal. The
insurance man at that point suggested it could have been a pointed object of some sort. I didn't stop,
and kept driving directly to the Mineral Point Police Station. They were not in so I went to a local
restaurant and the owner called the police and they arrived momentarily. A woman passing by saw I had
left my lights on and stopped to turn them off. When I came out she asked if I was alright. That was when I
noticed the windows were both blown out. Although the police went looking for it, and several neighbors
and myself and son, no one could identify an object that could have done that much damage to the car.
I have 5 pictures of the damage done to the car. A caption with a picture of the car was written in the
Dodgeville Chronicle the next week. Also a reference to me and my car was in a UFO article written
by Dan Seleey (sp?), a writer for the Wisconsin State Journal. I also wrote to NASA and they responded
that it might be something that had perhaps fallen off an airplane.
Note: This witness said she would submit the photo's to UFO Wisconsinfor review. If we receive
