Details of Incident:

I can't tell the exact year or month. It was in about l997 or so, early in the morning (4:00 or 4:30). I was driving east on Kensington Bd. in Shorewood and had just approached the Oakland intersection when I saw above me, to the north, a circular craft with bright orange and yellow lights around the rim. It was flying east and then suddenly cut a strict right angle to the north and was out of sight because of trees and buildings in my sight line. I don't remember any sound. I do remember being weirdly calm about the whole thing and in fact, since this was a very busy work day with me, seeming to forget it, or put it aside, until the evening when there was a report of it on a Milwaukee TV station. A man from Mequon, as I recall, reported the same sight at about the same time. I didn't do anything about it at the time, probably because the event seemed so unconnected to everything else in my life. I wasn't especially worried what someone might think if I reported it. It was just a quirky sense that this was some kind of reality that didn't quite fit in with the other 24 hours and 55 minutes of the day.
