Details of Incident:
3 Objects of "pinpoint" light moving and stopping were first noticed by myself. A few minutes
later my wife and I found 5 more that moved into position, alternated turning red, then
disappeared. There was one stunning observation and also at least 15 to 20 others were seen
over a two hour period.
Rudolph, Wisconsin June 7, 1999 Time: 9:57 to 10:05 pm Subject: Eight objects at very high
altitude, non-linear movement, positioning themselves and pulsating light. My wife and I are
still outside. This is the first time in years observing the night sky that we have ever seen
anything quite like this. We both witnessed a total of eight objects. (Eight for me and Five
for my wife) I had my binoculars out and thought that I would look at Mars. As I was watching a
pinpoint of light moved just below the planet. At first I thought it was just a satellite, but
it was moving from SouthWest to SouthEast. Then it did something very odd, it stopped, got
brighter, then moved away from me and vanished. I then scanned back to the area of Mars and
found two more objects heading in the same direction. Both of them stopped momentarily turned
Red at different times and began moving in opposite directions. At this point I ran in and got
my wife. I am not sure if we picked up the same two objects or not but we did watch in the same
general vicinity for a minute or two before we saw them again. This time she saw them first.
First one, then the other. They started out going Southeast then made a slow curve to Northeast.
We used reference stars to track them to try and figure out if our eyes were playing tricks on
us or not as we followed them. At one point, one of the objects made a fairly sharp curve to
the East, then curved back to the west. The other object changed heading slightly Northeast to
parallel the other. Then they both stopped. Again there was a glow (not pulsating) red light
from one of them and then the other. At this time, there were two more object coming from the
SouthEast and moving NorthWest. They nearly intersected where the other two objects had stopped
(which now were just white pinpoints of light). They traveled to the NorthWest about 30 degrees.
One of the objects stopped and the other one then turned a very bright Red (not pulsating)
while it continued to move a little further. It then stopped. The red light intensified when we
noticed that all object were now turning red, off and on from one another. A fifth object moved
from the NorthEast and positioned itself in a straight line with the other four objects. The
red light then dissipated and only pinpoints of light remained. There were several high
altitude jets in the sky this evening which we used as references to rule out aircraft. We also
noticed a dozen or so satellites over the next hour. We can not explain what these objects were
because of the fact that they stopped, positioned themselves, appeared to signal one another
and somehow blended in to the surrounding stars. According to a recent UFO NBC television
astronomer, we are not trained observers of the night sky but I am hard pressed to understand
what we both witnessed. The change of direction was a little to difficult to explain as well.
We do have a question regarding the *satellites* that we watched this evening. Do satellites
track the planet in several different paths? We witnessed these moving from SW to NE, from NE
to SW, from nearly due West to East and from East to West. If this is normal then so be it. If
it is not, then we observed much more than we know about. I am now going to go back out for
another half hour or so and see what else this magnificent night sky offers us for entertainment.
This was better than Star Wars... Sincerely ((two names deleted)), Wisconsin 715.
