In the early fall of 2003, myself and two other friends witnessed some strange red lights in the sky while sitting on a back porch in Menomonie, WI. I'm not exactly sure what month it was, but I'm almost positive it was late August or early Sept. We were all blown away by the lights but we all agree it wasn't more than 30 seconds long unless they started before my friend Rachelle first spotted them.

Here's what I remember, and what is generally agreed: six or seven red lights acting very peculiar, traveling across the sky. The lights were probably the size of a pencil eraser held at arms lenght. They sort of looped around and over each other in two different sets at times, and although it seemed somewhat erratic, there seemed to me to be perhaps something methodical about the movements. by that I mean that they seemed intelligent? or alive, at least that's what I guess anyway. The fact that they went on for at least fifteen or twenty seconds makes me believe that they weren't fireworks.

Yet it seems that when trying to describe these lights the most common reaction is they were maybe or probably fireworks. All three of us know for sure that they certainly weren't fireworks. Although I'm not certain that they were some sort of "crafts" or something out of this world, its for certain that they weren't fireworks unless these fireworks cost a fortune or something!! It may be worth noting that when the lights were over there was what sounded like a gunshot about a minute or so after the lights disapeared. Although none of us think it had anything to do with the lights, we always seem to bring up that detail when we discuss it and sometimes wonder if it was in any way related.

Before that, I had never heard a description anything close to what we saw. It gave me goosebumps when I saw the picture, to tell you the truth.
