Details of Incident:

My girlfriend and I were driving back to Wausau from the casino, and we had just reached the point where Hwy 29 W and Hwy 51 N merged when I noticed 3 lights (2 red, 1 white) in the sky that I had never seen before. They were hovering between 700ft-1500ft over the hospital. I metioned it to my girlfriend, and she had never seen them either. At first I thought maybe they were just new tower lights or possably the hospital's helicoptor, but thats when both of the red lights started to move with no trace of any typical airplane lights. The closer red light moved to the south towards us, and the farther red light moved southwest towards the bright white one. Thats when the bright white light one was block behind a tree as we were driving, and there was a flash (There had been some heat lighting that night). Once my LOS was restored to the previous location of the white light had been, it was nowhere to be seen. By this time were were within a mile of these remaining red lights, and the closer one had dropped to around 50ft of the ground and flew past our car (This part of the hwy is raised up to travel over the city streets under it, therefore we were even with the object as it flew past), it was easily within 2 blocks of our car heading south as we were traveling north on 51. It passed us at about the same rate a car in the oppisite lane would have so I got a good look at it. My jaw dropped, and I didn't breath for was seemed like forever! There was no sound coming from this thing, it was about the length of 2 semi-trucks. It was red with orange in its center, strangely there was no light that hit the ground below it, the ground was black as night, except for the Menards parking lot next to it. Its shape from our view point was that of an elongated sphere. The second red object stopped and held its position for a few seconds, and then headed west, and was gone by the time we got back to a point were we could see it again. We drove around for awhile to try to spot these objects again without success.
