At around 10:25 PM 4/12/08, I noticed a star in the lower western sky twinkling intensely all while changing colors approximately every 1 second. The object was static (like any star). The object appeared to change to shades or blue, green, purple, pink, and yellow.
I then observed the object with my 4.5" reflector telescope and it appears at times to change structure between a "V" shape and then into line shape slowly. The object did not disappear but rather tree began to block my view after 20 or so minutes of observation.
It is possible that I may have observed atmospheric aberration of a star but I found the spectrum of colors produced by the object to be quite amazing. I have spent quite a few hours using my telescope and observing the sky and I have never seen anything like this.
My wife has also seen this object through the telescope.
