In Late August of last year in South Milwaukee, [I apoligize that I cannot recall the specific date or time], in late afternoon to early evening, my roommate and I were about to get in my car so that I could take her to work. When I looked in the direction of Lake Michigan and saw what we both initially thought was a giant black kite that someone was flying on the beach. I say that I thought it may have been a kite because it was pretty windy that day and the object was diamond shaped and flying near vertically. We live very near to the General Mitchell airport which for those of you who don't know is a very large airport with planes taking off and landing on a nearly constant basis. And when one of these large passenger jet liners started flying east over the lake, the object that we thought to be a giant kite started moving very quickly. It seemed, at least from our vantage point to be following the passenger jet. Neither of us knew what to think at first, noticing now that the object, still flying vertically [like a classic diamond shaped kite] was now moving at what must have been hundreds of miles per hour in an east/south east direction. We stood and watched the object for what I would estimate was about ten or fifteen minutes before it and the plane dissapeared into the distance. I wish that I would have reported this earlier with more specific information, but it seemed to be far enough over the lake that I though for sure that someone in the city of South Milwaukee or the entire coastal Milwaukee area would have reported it eventually. I was wrong, but I know for a fact that other people must have seen this. Possibly even the people on the jet liner. I talked to a few people who live near Lake Michigan in Oak Creek [neighboring town] who when I told them of this story, looked at me in amazement. They said that they have seen similar phenomenon over the lake on and off for years but were hesitant to speak up. If anyone else out there has seen these things, PLEASE report them on this site, you are
not the only ones.
