A large bright object was heading very fast towards the Earth.

All of a sudden the object slowed its speed about 95% and had 2-3 green(ish?) flashes before speeding up in an instant and disappearing very quickly behind the treeline. There was no visible flash of anything hitting the ground. I am an seasoned observer of the night sky and this was not a shooting star.
