Details of Incident:

At almost exactly 10:00 am I was arriving at work in Cudahy WI. I was traveling south down Packard Avenue in Cudahy when I spotted a light in the sky directly ahead of me. At first I thought it must be an airplane with a landing light on or something, or maybe even a bright reflection off an airplane since it was so close to the airport. When I had parked I took a better look at it. It wasn't just a pinpoint of light, it was bigger than that, but it smaller than a dime held at arm's length. The thing that convinced me to report it is the fact that it had no visible structure behind or around the light, just the light. The light itself was kind of football shaped or oval shaped. It was oriented so that the long axis was horizontal.

I observed it for about a minute or so until it traveled to my left toward Lake Michigan. I watched it until it was no longer visible when it disappeared behind the building line.

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS

My first thought was that it was an airplane with a real bright white landing light on it. If this was the case, I would think it would have been flying straight at me, not moving off to the left.

My second possible explanation was that it might have been bright sunlight reflecting off some type of aircraft. If this were the case, I would think that the reflection might have changed slightly as the object moved. The sun was located at probably about a 45 degree angle off to my left and high in the sky. I would think that to get such a bright reflection the sun would have to be located behind me. Instead, it was located in the sky in the same area as the object.

MOVEMENT AND ALTITUDE

It's movement was pretty steady and straight. It didn't make any erratic movements at all and didn't appear to change its speed. It started at an altitude of about 40 degrees above the horizon and when I last saw it, it was at an altitude of about 30 degrees above the horizon.

WEATHER

The sky was very clear, with only a few clouds. The sky behind the object was clear blue with no clouds. It was a very sunny morning.
