Details of Incident:

My Dad was outside looking at the stars with his new telescope while I was inside the house. I decided to go out and see if he found anything interesting. I stepped out the back door and walked over to my Dad. He was looking at Jupiter and was staring through the scope, and I don't really know too much about stars, planets etc., So I assumed it would be the biggest star in the sky. As I looked up I saw a star that was pretty large, and I noticed that right away. As my Dad was still looking at Jupiter, this star appeared to be moving. It was moving off south-west very slowly, or it only appeared to be, slowly that is, because of the direction I was facing, but it was definitely moving. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me at first, but I realized that this thing was getting smaller and fainter as I watched it, like it was getting farther and farther away. There was no sound, and it could not have been a satellite, because I have seen plenty of satellites in the night sky before, and this was way larger than that. The whole time I was watching this thing I never said anything to my Dad because I thought he would think I was making it up or fabricating somehow. My Dad was so fascinated with his new telescope that even if I did try to tell him, he probably would not have paid any attention to me anyway. It was just a tad cloudy that night as well.
